What Does a Nutritional Therapist Do?

Working with a nutritional therapist

In order to understand your current health issues, your goals and to work through a new eating plan, consider supplements and possible clinical testing, we will need to work together over a period of time. A ‘one-off’ appointment is unlikely to help you. The length of your programme will depend on your current status and what you want to achieve but will start with an initial 10 weeks.

A Health consultation will typically involve the following elements;
  • In-depth health and lifestyle assessment to consider symptoms, medical history, family history, lifestyle and stress. A health questionnaire and food diary will be sent to you prior to the appointment.
  • Analysis of your dietary and nutritional intake
  • Body composition analysis
  • A strategy for health linking the symptoms to nutritional imbalances and providing support and encouragement to change diet and lifestyle
  • Current medication and nutrient interaction evaluation if applicable
  • Detailed, written action plan - personalised advice for diet and lifestyle changes and includes tailored support to help you to implement the recommendations
  • Recommendations on clinical tests and interpretation if appropriate
  • Supplement recommendations if necessary
  • Fees start from £195 this includes
  • Initial Personal consultation – 1.5 hours
  • Written, personalised action plan
  • 2 Follow up face to face consultations – 30-45 minutes
  • Email support
Appointments are available on:
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings
  • All appointments at Shalford Green, Braintree
  • Evening appointments can be arranged.

Please note: The cost of clinical tests and/or supplements are not included.
